Arts Center, 400 N. Queen Street

Youth Performances

11:00 a.m. -- Members of the youth music enrichment programs offered throughout the year by the Community Council for the Arts will be featured, including TAPS Choral Ensemble (Traditional Arts Program for Students). TAPS is under the direction of Will Sawyer and Marcus Jones. Among other special youth highlights, there will also be youth solos from two piano students who participate in the Keys for Kids Program, instructed by Will Sawyer and Mike Kinzie.

4:00 p.m. -- A performance by the youth participating in the Arts Center's Performing Arts Theatre Summer Camp. This year's theatre camp is directed by Holly Holder.

Neuse Regional Library, 510 N. Queen Street

Local Favorites

1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. -- Lessette Kornegay will present a songwriting workshop; immediately following, she will perform a concert of fan favorites.

3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. -- Clevette Roberts will present a spoken word workshop, with a performance from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Kinston Downtown

Various Performances

The evening will feature musicians performing in some of the Kinston downtown social district venues. Other locations and times TBA. Solo and group musicians currently include:

* Mother Earth Tap Room (311 N. Herritage Street) -- Robert "Dick" Knight will perform at 9:00 p.m., kicking off a "mini music crawl" in downtown venues.

* Social House Vodka (906 Atlantic Street) -- Super Grit Cowboy Band musician Mike Kinzie will play from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and No Quarter! Brass Band will be performing at 9:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

* The Proof (220 N. Herritage Street) -- Glow Practice will play from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Johnny and the Sirens will be performing from 9:15 p.m. until 10:15 p.m.
